Step 1: Start By Compiling Picture of What You Like or Want
Spend time looking in magazines, online, taking photos of your friends’ kitchen that you love, and assemble them in an album, on Pinterest or in some other shareable format. The more information we have, the smoother the design process will be. There is a wealth of information out there on the net and in publications, so make the most of it! Here are a couple of our favorite sites to get you started.
Step 2: Check Out Finished Houses
Use sites such as Homeplans.com to find pictures and floorplans of houses you like the look and feel of, and make notes of all the features that you’d like included in your new house. Maybe you like a particular roof style, or maybe you like the feel of the lighting; anything and everything and everything can help with our process!
Step 3: Schedule a Consultation
Gather it all together in an easy-to-read format (we recommend using a word processor or similar piece of software to create an Adobe PDF file) and bring it with you to your initial consultation with us! Don’t worry if you can’t get it all in one space; we can use whatever you provide in whatever format to get an idea of what you’re looking for and work from that to your finished design. We’ll even work with napkin sketches!
